With an unbelieveable 25 bands registering for Battle of the Bands 2018 the Zambian Pannel of Adjudicators found it incredibly difficult to select only 6.
In 2017 Battle of the Bands came alive, a known concept, however somewhat new to Zambia. Radisson Blu along with ZAM (Zambia Association of Musicians) came forward to provide a platform for the bands to compete and share their talents to the country. 11 bands registered and only 4 made it to the final where Burning Youth triumphed. This year Burning Youth is taking to the stage and showcasing their talents in the opening of Battle of the Bands 2018.
With the exciting growth of Battle of the Bands and the support of our new sponsors on board 2018 is unquestionably set up to be Zambia’s own biggest music event with bands of all genres.
Having received 25 top tear entries for 2018’s event the Panel of Judges opted to increase the number of this years participants to 8 instead of the initial 6.
Your top 8 to make it to the stage of Battle of the Bands 2018 are (in no particular order):

· Becky & The All Tunes
· Y Not
The winners of this event will walk away with K40,000, perform in the opening line up for Cassper Nyovest in September and perform in the opening line up for Battle of the Bands 2019, runners up will receive K20,000.

Radisson Blu’s Initiative Battle of the Bands has come to an encouraging start in 2018 with various corporates committing to #SupportingLocalMusicians.
The Battle of the Bands 2018 is set to re-live another successful year. In 2017 Radisson Blu Hotel, Lusaka’s concept was entirely self-funded as the hotel recognized the need for assistance in the arts in Zambia.
Triumphing from the Battle was Burning Youth winning K20,000 with their energetic band that had the crowd on their feet. In 2018 Battle of the Bands first and second place will be K40,000 for winners and K20,000 for runners up.
